Hotel. DH can rideshare back and forth. Or rent a second car. Cheaper than deep cleaning.

Don’t be quick to jump to ”offended” we started weekly cleaning for my in laws and quite frankly they were relieved! We’ve been thanked many times!! And yes, it takes a bit to find a good one and if she’s unavailable, (sick/injuried) they go without, tried finding a temp and it was half the work, twice the pay.

Unfortunately I don’t think one deep clean will do the trick. It’s just going to stir up a lot of dust and mold spores. You’d need to start investing in weekly cleaning for the next year.

It’s hard to do when you aren’t there. Best way is to ask for recs. Even then you have to hover over them somewhat. And many cleaners are just duds. A lot of it is luck and willingness to insist they get their job done.
Thanks. The team was good and they worked hard but arriving late and they had a schedule to keep... wasn't great. They had a checklist and completed the checklist but everything was wiping. I don't think anyone mops any more. It was better than nothing. But with OP expecting to clean out animal dander, I would keep expectations low.

You all make it sound so easy. I booked a deep clean for my parents house when they were both away because they would never allow anyone in. Not a big or dirty or cluttered house.

My crawling child developed an eye infection after crawling on my MIL's filthy floors. You do need to figure this out. I'd be honest and make it clear the cleaning is for you not a gift for them. If it were a gift for them, it would be after they hosted not before.
I agree with this. Unless your ILs are obtuse they'll realize a proper gift would be after hosting not before. My parents would see through the "gift" in a second. It's about your allergies and the baby. Just be honest. They may or not be offended, depending on temperaments.

I have inlaws with dirty homes. My older relatives would never accept cleaning as a gift because they are convinced cleaners want to steal their junk.
Their son can just say "can we gift you a monthly cleaning service for a year? You are getting older and id like to do this." see what they say. Offering a deep clean for when you visit woukd be offensive.

You can say that you use X cleaning service and they accidentally broke a small item and have offered you a deep clean, and you’re gifting it to ILs.
After that, “We thought they did such a good job we wanted to gift it to you again.”
