Apparently, STATES do get to decide per the Supreme Court ruling.
BTW, you had abortion to the first trimester. But then you had to keep pushing it out to the 9th month on demand, and play games to make sure the tax payer fund it. See the Hyde amendment. it's very real.

That is just not true. Abortion was largely banned everywhere with very limited exceptions before Roe v Wade. Before 1973, there was no first trimester exception for the majority of states. It was almost entirely dependent on whether your (usually) male doctor felt that the risk of you dying was too high for them to be comfortable with. This policy will force women who were raped in the military to give birth to their rapists baby. There is no way around it. Around 25% of women who active duty service members are raped at some time during their service. There are military bases that are more than 1000 miles from the nearest abortion clinic because they are completely surrounded by abortion ban states. The military also is not allowed to give leave for women to obtain an abortion due to recent policy changes. The military controls theses women’s schedule and they have banned access to the procedure even if they are raped. So the answer is unequivocally yes that the military now has a policy of forcing women who were raped to give birth.
That 25% is reported unwanted sexual contact, not exclusively rape.
You are playing semantics. That number is alarmingly high either way and the reality is that they are creating a situation where many women who are raped will be forced to give birth.
I'm reading the data and data definitions. You need to do the same. It is just as powerful to say that some military women who are victims of rape will not have access to abortion whether through their provider or within driving distance with another provider not part of their insurance, whether this is 1 military woman or 8,000.
You need to become literate in reading data. This will serve you better in the long run. If you have access to data of men on women rape in the military (because this matters for your argument), gaps in reporting, rate of rape at installations and location of those installations, laws governing abortion at those locations and, if needed, in nearby states, you can determine the number of military women affected by this memo. This is the point of your post. If you want to talk about the high rates of sexual assault in the military, that is another topic. It is a worthy topic, just as your original topic is.
Once you have determined the total number of women affected, then you can develop a policy to limit that impact.

2026 Dems will break supermajority’s in MO, shore up majority in PA and maybe flip Texas state house.
