You have refused to answer if anyone thanked you in person or to acknowledge that they might send a note later which is perfectly acceptable.

I don't think you have to worry about your precious bonuses next year because you probably won't have any employees.

yea indeed they are very lucky. They know they are getting paid much more also. but i am a good and fair boss always understanding and always generous. Very few i know have any kind of bonus so to me, i went above and beyond The lack of manner and appreciation. however me thinking future bonuses at all.

You sound very entitled in your original post. “They are lucky to have the job they do.” Ouch. Anyways, please never give a gift with an expectation of anything in return, not even words of gratitude. You said you handed them the money in a box of cookies? If it was me, it would still be sitting in my car. We are still within the holidays and things are chaotic. If it was not expected, then they may not know to look.

I don't agree with this at all. The small business owner is struggling to keep things afloat to afford them their positions. Perhaps they don't realize the precarious nature of their jobs.

I’m confused. You handed out boxes personally and no one even said thank you upon receiving them? Otherwise it’s possible they will still write a thank you card after the holidays.
