Thanks. These all have acceptance rates in the 20-30% range. We’re looking for 50% or more, which would be more in the target/likely range for my kid.

What about the College of Charleston?

No football team.

OP, consider:
Coastal Carolina
High Point
Campbell
Furman
Appalachian State (larger)
Miami of Ohio (larger)

For the fall 2024 entering class:
Number of ED applications received: 399
Number of ED applicants admitted: 368

That's really good information to know. I had no idea.

Always check the Common Data Set and you will get a more detailed breakdown and clearer picture of admissions data for a particular school.

I think Miami of Ohio and College of Charleston are good suggestions with a lot of similar vibes to Elon. The Jesuit universities are also great to consider (medium sized, higher acceptance rates, pretty campuses, and school spirit). In particular, check out St. Joe’s and Loyola MD. A couple other ideas I haven’t seen suggested that meet at least some of your criteria are URI and App State (bigger but may still be appealing and check some of the other criteria).

No offense, but does Elon have strong sports? I do t think of it as a big sports school.

I love Vermont & I adore Burlington, but the usage of marijuana & assorted other recreational drugs is a bit too much for non-druggies at UVM. So, not really a match for Elon.

Might be a little light on the school spirit side by College of NJ - I was surprised at the acceptance rate as I thought it was more selective - very good school.
