I’m a seller on Posh, and other sites, but do about 80% of my sales on Posh. Roughly $1k/month so not huge, but not chump change. They have new owners, some Korean company, and they have been running the site into the ground recently. The search is complete garbage and I can’t find my stuff even when I type in my exact title. They also don’t shut down closets that have been inactive for months and don’t do a good job patrolling those that are dropshipping crap through their “boutiques”. Frustrating to those of us who have nice little closets and care about posting decent stuff.

Are you objecting to the word foreign? Is there a different word you would prefer as an antonym to domestic? Foreign and domestic products is a pretty standard term. We can just keep randomly deciding that words are “gross” when the words are necessary to convey a concept.

I hate the fake stuff as well, but PM can be great (like EBay) if you know how to search and you are judicious

Always look at the sellers other items- does it make sense?
Where are they located? Does that track with the brand and items they were selling?

Same. I sold a few items back in 2020 / 2021 and bought some items. But it seems the inventory increased so I stopped even getting views / likes on items so they’re probably not even appearing in search results. So I just went back to giving away on buy nothing groups / donation centers.

Same, I don’t think my listings were ever seen after the moment I put them up. It is impossible to compete with the thousands who are working the app as their job.

But you also have to do a reverse image search on the item because even Etsy is filled with cheap amazon crap. Very often an image search pulls up an Amazon link.

Over the summer, there was a Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard boutique that was selling $15-30 Amazon dresses for $200+.

They were probably getting the stuff from Alibaba or whatever, but it's a sad comment that lots of people can't tell the difference between quality items and junk. Because some of the designer brands are putting out garbage, too.

The games these vendors play with the searches is infuriating. If I want a blue Ralph Lauren somename sweater in size medium the search should return exactly that. I get so fed up that occassionally I'll see an item and not put it in my cart or bookmark it and days later when I search, even though I'm using the exact title, the item isn't found and I have to page through so much crap to try to find it.

For all the bashing of Temu, AliExpress etc, for some items they have the same quality as what I find in brick and mortar stores. If you are interested in crafting, their paints, brushes, paper, general art supplies are as good as anything I've bought in a store but at a much better price.
