You’re surprised a college town has a college town feel?

I'm surprised you said that since "surprised" wasn't even mentioned previously.

I’m the odd one out but I like Cumberland. Downtown is depressing, it was better a few years back, but the general area is very pretty and there’s a decent Italian place with wood fired pizza on the outskirts. I like going out that way and hiking.

We stopped there on the way to New Germany State Park. We visited the C & O Canal NHP and walked around that area. It was nice. Fort Frederick State Park is also interesting, between DC and Cumberland.

Are drugs still a problem in Cumberland?

My DH loves the Hummingbird Cafe, which is near the Cumberland Airport.

If you want nostalgia food look for Curtis Coney Island Wieners in town. My mom ate there as a kid and took me when i was little.

Good food in a clean and friendly atmosphere.

We ate a D’Atri’s. It came highly recommended, but didn’t impress.

Honestly when you asked what we do in Cumberland, my answer was meth. So, yeah. Skip it.

Crabby pig is reasonably solid. Rocky gap state park is very nice but shines in summer and fall. We often stop at Buddy Lou’s on our way back from Cumberland. You can also walk along the C&O canal in that area.

I was the one who had stopped to charge my car. It was at Sheetz. The drug abuse was clear. It was very sad to see.

+1. We drove by on the way to Deep Creek and thought we could stop in Cumberland for food. Once we got downtown we just turned around and got back on the highway. I’m sure that some areas are better than others.
