I think deferral for one that would be a likely admit (was qualified) just to let other institutional priorities in for yield- yes- they should have increased ED admits given these awful circumstances and gone ahead with admittance.

Families are absolutely reeling and on edge right now. You can’t understand that trauma. They will need all of the support in the coming months and having a sib on campus helps. It’s why twins are given priority in regular years.


A sad situation, but almost no one is a “likely admit”.

Nobody knows where this investigation/situation is headed. They should have locked more down early, and certainly those with history at the school.

ED is currently under scrutiny/lawsuits and Brown does not need any additional problems right now.

People can break ED contracts if they don’t feel safe. A major health or safety issue is generally considered a legitimate, "good" reason to be released from an Early Decision (ED) agreement. It would have been smarter to lock more kids down early with all that has happened.
