Oh this sounds very unfortunate. What exactly is he proposing to do to special ed funding? Redistribution to more admin? Total cuts? Could you elaborate a bit more since you know so well.


That's about all we know. Everyone in special ed is on edge wondering if they'll still be serving students in their current positions next year or if they'll be pushed into something else. Some may go back to teaching, some may retire, some might have to take a RTSE role. I can it'll you no one wants to be on those cross functional teams- they're truly a joke and most of the people on them don't know what they're doing.


Tell me more. As a parent, I suspected they were nothing but hot air but I'd love some tangible evidence to throw back at the MCPS people who love to throw out the Cross-Functional Teams as the answer to all our school's woes. Even though I have yet to see evidence of a single problem they've solved.

That's about right for inflation, so hopefully they will.

Proposing $1.9 million in targeted summer school focused on math and literacy camps. That's actually not a bad idea.

Also, $1.7 million in additional security allocations.

Many staff were informed this week, before the holidays, that their positions were being cut next school year. This includes many PPWs (social workers), so I agree... Incredibly time deaf and seems disingenuous considering the supposed "priorities."
