She’s been texting with my husband but ignoring me. I think a simple “no thank you, I’m not interested” is the answer if she didn’t want to go. Not answering what’s a fairly generous offer is rude.

psst OP...stop mentioning how much you spend on her and how generous you are...it makes you sound like a total douche

Maybe she missed the text, didn't see it later, and forgot?

It was ALWAYS on your DH. I’m so freaking tired of these “what should I do about my MIL” posts. Jeff should create a separate forum just for dumba**es asking how to handle their MILs. You don’t. That’s your DH’s job.

Ew. chiding OP when not assigning responsibility to her son / OP’s DH is nasty.

Her DH isn’t on here posting and complaining and talking about taking away her Christmas gift because she didn’t respond quickly enough for his wife.

If you don’t have the kind of relationship where you could call her on the phone then that’s your answer.

+1 And maybe focus some of this misspent energy on improving communication skills with your husband. Clearly he doesn't think all that much of your pushy behavior since doesn't feel the need to relay basic information from his mom to you.
