DS applied last year regular and was waitlisted but this year applied ed 1 and was rejected. We had better scores, ecs, etc. anyone know why this is? 3.9UW 1450.

This kind of attitude is why so many kids are so stressed out about admissions and “prestige.” Horrible thing to say about a very impressive kid who is headed to an excellent school and is likely thrilled (as he should be) that he just got what he wanted and worked hard to get.

Dang. I'm sure there a lot of Emory Test Optional apps that will be getting admits with SAT's much lower than that (35% TO generally) with similar GPA's. Your DS has good numbers. He will get in somewhere good. Stay patient.
