Is Norwood too far for a Chevy Chase parent to drive to? It looks like it’s 22-26 minutes minutes from our home during rush hour. I’m wondering if I’ll resent the commute after a few months. Both DH and I work.

It's been a wonderful combination of warm/nurturing and increasing academic rigor at developmentally appropriate points as the kids build critical thinking, time management, leadership, and good study skills by the time they reach middle school. We have also loved the strong sense of community, abundance of extra-curricular activities and sports offered, and super helpful outplacement process for high school.
UDC and Burke are located in Van Ness. As PP said, Sheridan is in the Wakefield neighborhood

Lowell treats its teachers terribly. Sorry, but it is not a "great community." When we were there, we witnessed administration acting in perplexing and inappropriate ways toward teachers, parents, and students-- and there seemed to be few consequences for serious bullying. Suggest you choose another school.
