Concord Hill goes until 3rd, Sheridan and WES go through 8th. WES is closer to CC and is a little bigger than Sheridan. HS placements for Sheridan and WES are similar (or at least since I’ve been paying attention!)

Is Norwood too far for a Chevy Chase parent to drive to? It looks like it’s 22-26 minutes minutes from our home during rush hour. I’m wondering if I’ll resent the commute after a few months. Both DH and I work.

It’s definitely further. They have a bus though.

Sheridan is selective FYI so you'll need back ups.

It's been a wonderful combination of warm/nurturing and increasing academic rigor at developmentally appropriate points as the kids build critical thinking, time management, leadership, and good study skills by the time they reach middle school. We have also loved the strong sense of community, abundance of extra-curricular activities and sports offered, and super helpful outplacement process for high school.

UDC and Burke are located in Van Ness. As PP said, Sheridan is in the Wakefield neighborhood

Sheridan is two blocks from UDC.

We agree with a PP that the school is suffering. The school has is experiencing financial difficulties (underwater on last two 990s) and seems to take anyone who applies as a result. Full-pay families absolutely rule the place. Their kids seem to be able to do anything they want while suffering few consequences. Faculty and staff have to clean up ridiculous messes year after year. We don’t think the school will be able to survive much longer under these conditions. OP, it’s not a good place right now.

Look at Harbor School. The happiest place we have ever been!

Can’t say enough great things about Lowell, and lots of CC families there!

Lowell treats its teachers terribly. Sorry, but it is not a "great community." When we were there, we witnessed administration acting in perplexing and inappropriate ways toward teachers, parents, and students-- and there seemed to be few consequences for serious bullying. Suggest you choose another school.

I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I haven’t seen anything like you describe. We still highly recommend!
