Throughout the election, the New York Times gaslighted voters and ran near-daily articles characterizing concerns about Biden's immigration policy as overblown and everything from Russian disinformation to uninformed MAGA talking points. They had all sorts of dubious graphics and charts showing the immigration problem was not that bad or was not Biden's fault. Meanwhile, people were seeing with their own eyeballs in major cities just how bad things were getting and were told their eyes were lying to them.
Now, they and the Democratic machine confess that they knew the whole time that Biden's immigration policies worsened the problem, but they did nothing but lie to and name call voters. Screw these people.
Is this a joke? Look at the link on page 1. They lambasted Hillary, but not Trump. They’ve never known how to report on Trump, to the Dems detriment for TEN YEARS.

Also, is there any reason this shoddy paper won't focus on the tyrant with dementia who is bankrupting America for his personal gain? Seriously, I'd line the cat box with this garbage, if I had either a subscription or a cat.

why are they writing about ANYONE besides the fascist madman-in-chief????????????
Presumably any mainstream media sources do cover the awful deeds of the fascist madman and that's what I've observed. Otherwise, looking back to identify reasons a team, person, or entity lost in competition is the most logical thing to do in order to be more prepared in the future.
Looking back is pure folly, theatrics. The only way to look is forward. Nothing will ever be the same in our lifetimes and the NYT, if it was serious about reporting for the masses and not the party of one, would understand this. This should be evident to any thinking person…

It is remarkable how out of touch Democrats are with the country.
The administration had the media in its pocket and really thought it could propagandize the American people into disbelieving their own eyes.
+1 Too many wealthy Democrats weren't significantly impacted by lax immigration policies and viewed those affected as ignorant, racist deplorables when they complained.

Well, the whole world, including most Americans, feels that way about them after this past election.
Ask folks in London.

Actually, no the whole world doesn't feel this way. Europe is dealing with its own immigration crisis - after lambasting countries like Hungary that resisted the open borders during the first Trump term.

But a New York Times examination of Mr. Biden’s record found that he and his closest advisers repeatedly rebuffed recommendations that could have addressed the border crisis faster, and eased what became a potent issue for Mr. Trump as he sought to return to the White House and justify the aggressive tactics roiling American cities today.
Former Biden administration officials told The Times that Mr. Biden and his circle of close confidants — including Ron Klain, who was chief of staff during the president’s first two years, Mike Donilon, Jennifer O’Malley Dillon and Anita Dunn — made two crucial errors.
First, they underestimated the scale of migration that was coming. Second, they failed to appreciate the political reaction to that migration — believing that stronger enforcement would alienate Latino and progressive voters, and also that a border surge would not be an important issue to most voters. Those calculations would later prove to be mistaken, with many voters, including Latinos, citing immigration as a reason for supporting Mr. Trump in 2024.
This is the crux of the issue. They cared more about re-election, party power, than what is right by the American people.
Two wrongs still don't make a right. All of the political momentum Biden gifted the GOP has quickly been pissed away by Trump's careless immigration crackdown.
disagree
many many swing voters are happy with the immigration crackdown.
mayorkas and Biden screwed the US voters. now we have Trump and his chaos.
Lol... and this explains why Trump, in the first year of his second term, is already as unpopular as Biden was in 2024. Think before posting such nonsense.
