Hydra, though a smaller team also has multiple swimmers who did Christmas Champs and will do Riley Eaton this coming weekend. Massive coaching fail. Teams should not allow 2 winter champs, period.

I have no idea why anyone would want to do this but Christmas champs needs to add the same language as Turkey clause, nft times and you can’t swim at all if you have more than 4 cuts for ncap or Riley eaten.
I concur with this 100%. I think coaches who allowed this really need to reflect on how they missed opportunities to prioritize kids who didn’t have cuts for the other meets. By letting swimmers with multiple qualifying meets do the same strokes again, it effectively took away finals opportunities from kids on their own clubs who could have gained valuable experience.
Coaches from multiple teams allowed this at Champs yesterday. Just think about the swimmers who placed in the 21–25 range — many of them might have had a real shot at finals if those lanes were available. That experience matters, especially for developing swimmers who don’t yet have those cuts.
Some food for thought.
+1. My kid swam finals at Turkey Champs and would not be able to if not for the NFT meet requirements.
That being said, I heard from others that NCAP allowed their swimmers to do both meets if swimmers are swimming less than 4 events at the Katie Ledecky meet.

I know their Rockville site asked swimmers to choose either Turkey or Holiday, but all other county sites allowed their swimmers to swim both Xmas Champ and Holiday. They should be banned, especially for a PG pool.

That is ridiculous. Serious. Clubs generally only allow swimmers to swim one Winter champs meet. (I have seen a kid swim both but in those cases they are swimming a one event at the second meet)
Allowing swimmers to double up is not fair. And will force either club number limitations or NST/NFT times for the meet.
