Somewhat agree 😬 there is definitely a significant number of entitled Long Island and Jersey kids. I would say it’s very different than Holy Cross student body.

They do but they’re not predominant. I went to Marquette in the 90’s and was in a fraternity. We all pitched in together to rent an off campus house and put up the letters. The 4-6 other frats and sororities on campus did the same thing. They were just a place to hang out, watch sports and drink more than a few beers. We were no more special than the navy or rugby houses. I assume Villanova is the same.

^Not so college reputations are built up over decades if not centuries. Why are Ivy League schools the most sought after along with Stanford and Duke. Alumni connections, endowment per student, name recognition etc. Among Catholic schools Gtown, Holy Cross, and ND were the true National elite schools for the elite Catholic families.

So what? This just isn't the case anymore. Northeastern was actually a TRUE commuter school 30 years and it now has an under 10% admissions rate. I am not a NE booster and think that admissions rate doesn't tell the whole story but much less does the experience from 30 years ago.

Know a few kids there. They all seemed to have a tough first semester but settled in second semester and love it

Lol BC boosters constantly inflate their school when in fact it was a commuter school 30 years ago. Nova has more prestige, much stronger alumni network and more upside potential.

I didn’t know Catholic schools had sororities and fraternities - is the Greek life predominant?

Nova students tend to have excellent career outcomes. Current student I know is very happy, came from a top public but grew up a practicing Catholic attending CCD, etc.
