I’m not sure I expect them to come to my neighborhood but I surely expect there to be clear signs of courtesy and ability to negotiate mutual needs. I would be very put off if he suggested a spot that was much closer to him unless it was somewhere he knew I wanted to go. That said “Arlington” is big, and if OP’s reason to not go into DC is purely parking … that’s ridiculous and all on her. sorry no I am not meeting at some mall in Ballston just because you refuse to metro.

For the first date, the guy should come to you. He’s just looking for a low-effort booty call. The funny thing is if he’s matching with people in Fairfax then he doesn’t have as many options as he would like.

I would not want to drive to DC on a rainy day and do street parking. I mean if he really wanted to see you he could just Uber midway.

The first guy sounds like a jerk. But why are you telling people who you haven’t even meant that you have your period? That’s weird.

I live in DC and am willing to leave the city to meet someone halfway and always offer, but not one man has required that, they are usually more than willing to make it easier for me.
