game history is free now FWIWAnonymous wrote:And if you spend a whopping $10 you can see all the game history and decide for yourself which games are important or even get a feeling of what team showed up that day.
All that aside, I go back to the fact that the teams are going to be so different it doesn't even matter how they're performing now. Adding in that they don't even play as the same teach each week currently just adds fuel to that fire.

I would honestly go to a neutral training or pickup like VA Street Soccer, find a girls who boss your girl and then ask them where they play and train and get that parents opinions. Here are a few details from the Rankings app:
Top 10 VA 2014’s teaming from NOVA:
1. Loudoun Pre-GA Red
2. McLean Pre-GA Green
4. SYC Pre-GA
6. Arlington Pre-ECNL
7. Great Fall Reston Pre- ECNL
8. VA Valor Pre-ECNL
9. VSA Pre-ECNL VDA West
Caveat, the club we most likely will be going to is not in the top 10. We are currently in a top 5 program and the coaching is overrated. Being on a winning team does not help a player develop. The top 2014 girl from SYC took a year off from club to train with False8 and then guests with different clubs. You have a lot of that going on and only a few Arlington teams seem to be transparent about who they brought in to guest for them on IG. It is very hard to gauge wins and losses when you don’t know who played unless you were there.
It is really important when discussing wins and losses to get the teams right. For example, on the boys side, the ECNL clubs love to boast victories against MLS Next. They just leave out the II or Academy Division.
McLean 2014 Green beat SYC 2013 Aspire team 2-0
McLean 2014 Green beat SYC 2014 Pre-GA 3-0
From the rankings app, it looks like they are playing up a year against the “vaunted” 2013 group and holding their own.
Get the Rankings app so you can sift through any “fake news” posted here. Check out local futsal tourney’s this winter like Capitol Futsal Cup and MD State Futsal Cup. Walk up to any of the ballers you see, compliment the parents, ask who they play for and how their experience is. I hope you find a good spot for your daughter to develop.

That’s cool. A lot more information is now being shared than just the McLean vs SYC nonsense that was being spouted. Now we finally get Arlington’s name in the mix which shows how shallow and afraid of competition this board is. People are not confident in their kids ability to compete so you’re not having a real conversation.
Arlington is having a rough season. Been losing a lot more than usual of their regular season games. Take a look here at rankings to get a sense of what teams are doing (minus the ga teams)…

Several kids left SYC, but how about we stop calling out individual 11/10 year olds so clearly. That list of 9 above is dumb and meaningless. Loudoun, McLean and SYC have had a fun fall of playing mostly 2nd and 3rd teams so who knows how good they are. Arlington throttles between first and second team players against good teams (ie that is why they tied VSA but lost to SOCA 4-0), GFR has no pathway and Valor is Valor. The teams don’t matter for next year.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:OP,

Anonymous wrote:You need to reach out to each club you're willing to drive to fit soccer practices and do ID sessions at each. Stay and watch from a distance and from that and your daughter's feedback you should get a pretty good feel for whether a club/team is a good fit. In general there is a big talent gap between 2013 and 2014 girls teams locally. Blame it on COVID or whatever you want; but if your top team daughter is moving down make sure she lands on a competitive team as there are less in that age group.
