This is what needs to happen. So many billions of people on earth are food-insecure, and so many millions of Americans are food-insecure. It would turn my stomach to witness so much waste. I think if your relatives watch as their bought food is thrown away into trash bags, the message will have a lot more impact.

They don’t want to take the brownies, pie, dip, etc. that they brought home, then I ask everyone and say we don’t want leftovers so if no one wants it, it’s going in the trash.
Then I get a trash bag and throw them away in front of the people who brought them.
You only have to do this a couple of times until they start bringing less or cave and take it home. .
