And I am also sure that when Duke says its supplemental essays are "optional" they are truly optional and you just write them for the heck of it

And this also is why for some students their geographic base school is a better choice than TJ.

Separately, sometimes people forget that a lot of TJ students are really targeting pre-med somewhere, and are not targeting a STEM field. M is for Math, not Medicine.

Um, what kind of undergrad degrees do you think most pre-med track students from TJ are getting? They aren’t flocking to the humanities.
