Similar here. DD with anxiety adhd and she calls or texts with a million issues but more in a venting way. Forgot this, coughing, didn’t sleep well, broke a nail, but then sometimes mentions positive things. She’s doing fine socially and in classes. Also clueless about wha she wants to do but that’s not a huge stress to her. She is on adhd meds. I also have anxiety so it’s a never ending cycle. I’m getting better about not indulging complaints. Hard because it’s a big adjustment and she’s far away. My son also in college is complete opposite. Most easygoing kid. I agree w other poster to try not to keep reassuring. But still be supportive.

She sounds like she has, at least, a generalized anxiety disorder. Maybe a psychological evaluation is in order, OP.
