The Village School in Arlington! I send my kids there and our family loves it. They are preK-8 and it is on the more affordable end for the area. Plus, they have scholarships.

You must start young.

Not necessarily. But if you’re francophone, which lots of kids are from their parents or living overseas, you can be accepted at any grade.

I second this recommendation. About a 20 min reverse commute from the Hill and other points in NE.

Micro Schools have challenges.

If you’re that hard up, move farther out in Virginia or Maryland. McDonogh School is much cheaper than DC schools with many more bells and whistles. (Equestrian anyone? Squash?)


And they have 5 Day boarding in the upper school.
