Westbrook has a great neighborhood feel and parent community, and they finally got rid of the incompetent and toxic principle.

I have heard there are some Ashburton kids that are at Wyngate this year due to overcrowding there. What I do know is that the Wyngate community is fantastic. The ES and MS are within the actual neighborhood which contributes to walkers and families being outside more for those that can get to school this way, or kids in groups. The neighborhood itself is really warm, IMO, and there are so many block parties and just general camaraderie that happens. Even though we are not at the school anymore, we have stayed connected with families, which just creates a really nice vibe for our kid overall.

Also Wygate parent. My 4th grader has a kid from Ashburton.

All Ashburton students in grade 2-5 were offered automatic COSAs to Wyngate and Luxmanor this year due to overcrowding.

Why didn't they make this same offer to Farmland students?

Farmland doesn't have near the number of portables and temporary modular structures that Ashburton has. Didn't they have an actual renovation in 2011? Not just temp modulars tacked on..

Ashburton had students sitting on trash cans several years ago because it had run out of chairs due to overcrowding. Bethesda Magazine did an article on it. Sorry to hear it continues.

Weird that the CIP says Ashburton isn't overcapacity and Farmland is.

It's because the CIP is considering the temporary modular units at Ashburton as permanent additions to the school

I second this.

BCC is a decent HS. It has many more low-income kids and more brown people than Whitman to be sure (which we saw as a plus to not live in a privileged kid bubble), and it's outcomes are still strong (as someone mentioned upthread, BCC had more NMSF this year than Whitman, despite being a much smaller high school).
