Interesting-the only thing I know about purchase is how sought after their dance program is.

Yes.
The non-medical school part of VCU also was associated with W&M. MCV was a branch of Hampden Sydney. GMU was associated with UVA

Not 1960. But started later than our country's most renowned colleges:
"The first SUNY branch is SUNY Potsdam, established in 1816 as the St. Lawrence Academy. While the State University of New York (SUNY) system was officially formed in 1948, it incorporated pre-existing institutions like SUNY Potsdam, which has the longest history as a member of the SUNY system."
I meant SUNY Purchase College, in Westchester County. The campus was constructed in 1967. You can tell because it's full of nondescript, block-like 60s-70s buildings. Some of the other SUNY campuses have lovely buildings, since they were built in the 1800s or early 1900s as independent colleges and later incorporated into the SUNY system.
