So in the DMV - the former SEC sorority girls I know (mostly in their 40s) are all fairly intelligent and friendly, and maybe a little vain. But the one thing they all have in common is that they almost all still party and drink a lot. Many of them are also in open marriages and female "friends" on the side.

fair enough, but the OP itself is superficial and focuses surface stuff. it's kinda hard to make serious judgments about somebody's character and worthiness as a spouse based on whether they were in a sorority.

Many can be good stock. Be sure you assess the dowry before committing. Courtship can be lengthy depending on which house they hail from.

Some will be and some won't be just like those who weren't in a sorority. Just like members of most other organizations.

NP, but I find caring what people think of you to be a negative, as well as "well dressed." People want different things though.

I was in a fraternity. It was a start-up chapter at a MAC school, so there wasn't a lot of prestige or even much in the way of an extended social network. But it was a good group of guys. There was a lot of drinking. We competed in some Greek events. There was some interaction with the sororities - but, with respect to meeting girls, it was mostly through the friends of the other guys' girlfriends. But, for me, those were the big things: friends, parties, and girls. (Feel free to call me shallow!) And, sure, you can get all of those things without a fraternity, but it was all a lot easier with that structure in place.
