That's not it. Most liberal arts colleges feel like (no, they actually are) country clubs. Middlebury is the epitome of country club colleges. Most liberal arts colleges are also setup for ivy rejects (cough cough "smart enough"). Maybe except for Swarthmore.
We visited Middlebury and Swarthmore, totally different vibes. Middlebury is preppy, lots of NYC private kids. Swarthmore full of strivers, insufferable, very very intense. Surprisingly there are very few tech immigrant kids at Swarthmore.
2nd gen ORM parent here. Swarthmore still doesn’t have the same brand/name recognition as the T-25’s in immigrant communities which is a shame because I’d rather have my kid at Swarthmore than at a lot of T-25’s.
Swat wants to keep it that way

What ignorance. Ever been on Richmond’s campus? The law school? Know anything about it? No, of course not. You’re as snobby and elitist and as ignorant as OP… and I have nothing to do with Richmond but at least have been there and know of its offering..
And if you really have worked in BigLaw, as I have, you would know that no one looks at undergrad when hiring lawyers … it’s all about the T14 and Law Review.
