A school with a $57 billion endowment and their ultra rich alumni network should not benefit as much as State U. Research is transferable. Spread the federal funding every where that is equitable. $57 billion.

$57 billion endowment, why do they need to cut? This says more about Harvard than Trump.

Speak for your own children.

My child was a biology major who planned to seek a PhD.

Prospects are bleak (with research funding cut so drastically). Federal jobs have also dried up.

But yeah, Trump and his corrupt cronies are all about supporting those who are greedy and self-interested.

^Sure lol! As if medical research can be only conducted in Cambridge and not Lawrence Kansas or beautiful Boulder Colorado.

This (impact of Trump’s policies) and the Federal cuts to medical research, will impact our children tremendously. But Republicans only care about unborn children.

SEAS is not affected by this cut.

Per the article OP shared, the Phd admission cuts are in the Arts & Humanities dept and the Science dept.
SEAS is a different department within Harvard FAS.

Nor does it affect undergraduate SEAS admissions.

Also by spreading federal funding to state schools all over it would create good high paying jobs and possibly create incubator companies in stem and biotech.

We already spread money around to publics throughout the country. Harvard gets less federal funding than lots of other universities, including publics: https://www.urban.org/urban-wire/how-much-federal-funding-do-colleges-and-universities-receive

Not at all. Harvard will continue to offer fully-funded PhDs.

And that's exactly why they need to cut how many positions they offer. Each PhD student costs over $100k per year to fund.

Yep, that's why so many go into finance and then Wall Street - does little to improve the country as a whole
