Northwood should have the humanities program. Not frigging Whitman! My goodness, how out of touch are they?

For region 1, humanities moves to Whitman, medical science + healthcare moves to Einstein, Performing arts is split and Einstein gets music and Northwood keeps theater and dance

That's unfair to the kids who do multiple - and do music, theater and dance as its all interconnected.

It says Einstein keeps VAPA which would presumably include all of them.

Or, they can have advanced and equal course offerings at all schools.

He needs to define what he considers equity.

Separate but unequal

Again, to increase access does not require a half-baked regional program. MCPS can add more programs to parts of the county where there is demand.

You've got to respect their cojones. The community says quite clearly "Slow down" and they "Yes of course, we hear you, we will now be moving faster"

Apparently they managed to make their plan even worse. It's totally inappropriate to give a rich school like Whitman an academic program like humanities-- those should go to schools that need help drawing/keeping advanced kids to support demand for advanc classes. And Whitman is so far away that few folks are going to go there, except maybe the most well-off who can drive that far or give their kids cars.
