I love standard time too. I like the darkness by 5. It’s so cozy and like the morning light to walk my dog before work. Being bright and sunny at 8pm doesn’t seem natural

In the morning my time is not my own. I'm getting ready for work and commuting. It's hectic and I really don't care if it's dark or semi-dark. I like light in the evening. It feels like freedom during "my time." In the winter when it's pitch dark by 5:00 I feel like I have to rush home and be warm and safe. In the middle of winter I long for the days when I can sit outside and enjoy the pleasant sunny evening light.

This is how I feel about light at 7pm.

Maybe that's a bit extreme, but definitely 8pm and 9pm (in the summer). That's miserable.

There is not much going on in the morning ... getting ready for work/school, getting dressed. brushing your teeth, driving to work/school.
I can do A LOT more in the afternoon if it's not dark!

I really don’t care one way or the other. I don’t mind the switch twice a year. Sure, it takes a couple of days to adapt but seriously, there are far worse things to get bent out of shape over.

I’m more mad about Pepco not fixing my broken streetlight for more than a year than I am at the sun. Any tips for who to call or write to or whatever? The map just says it will be fixed “soon” but it has said that for more than a year.

NP. My hell is the gray December days when it’s still dark at 7:30 and already dark at 4:30. I love the long summer days.
