Me too.

I am from west coast. 30 years ago, the common idea was:

Smart + Rich = Stanford
Smart + non-rich = Berkely
non-smart + Rich = USC
non-smart + non-rich = I forgot, maybe SJSU

OOS

OOS doesn’t matter. It’s a private school unless you mean South Carolina.

Actually it does. Bc if in state in CA, they often don't expect test scores....and USC accepts a disproportionately large % of in-state kids (nearly 50%).

No no no. It is the UCs who do not want to see SAT scores. USC DOES

Talk about missing the point…there will less likely be a negative inference about TO from a Cali kid at USC.

Wrong. All the private school kids in CA take it and many of the public school kids do too, in order to be competitive when applying to non- UC colleges. My kids literally just graduated from a CA publicy HS and took it. On the ground you become aware, you're just making sh*t up from your armchair in the DMV

USC does not look at TO students from Cali and TO students from elsewhere the same. That’s it. Full stop. Especially if kids are applying EA, they recognize it for what it is: a sign that the Cali kid is more likely to yield. I am sorry your public has bad college counseling, and am especially sorry that you do not seem to be able to learn beyond your lived experience.

IF you use the stupid phrase “full stop”, you are supposed to stop, not keep rambling on. And Californians don’t say “Cali”.

That is the full cost of acceptance (COA) and includes room & board. Living in LA is expensive. Tuition at USC is around $70K, same as any private uni.

Tuition for 2025 is just shy of $75K

UVA OOS tuition is $63K[/

Actually, UVA OOS tuition is $59,369.

Engineering $66K

Business 3rd 4th year = 68K

And Arts & Sciences, which is UVA’s largest college is $59,000 for OOS. Not everyone wants to major in engineering. More OOS students will be in Arts & Sciences than any other college.

My CA DS had an “SAT Day” at his public high school and took it there with many others. His friend at another school in the district did the same.

Arts and Sciences 3rd and 4th year 63k…if you are paying that much for tuition, go private (as many oos admits ultimately do, hence UVA’s low oos yield and resort to ED).

The tuition is a deal considering some idiots were willing to pay $500K just to get their kids in. Corrupt school.
