I do think it’s exceptionally helpful for brainstorming.

Editing, meh. Ideally kids should be able to carefully reread their work and edit for errors/typos. Let’s not encourage mushy brains.

AI has a role in improving the human existence, the college application process is not one of those roles. This years application focus will be on test scores (can function if we admit) and zip code (income stream).

Only to people who dont know how to use them effectively, not just blindly generate an essay and submit.

Guess I’m the sucker who listened today, but it was not what this poster made it sound like at all. Some colleges may be using Slate with AI abilities to scan transcripts and such in the future. It doesn’t sound like it’s happening too much at this point, however, and there was no mention at all about AO’s flagging essays for AI use, etc.
