I find this embarrassing too. I just deflect questions and move on.

I love being 120 lbs, not held hostage by food, and wearing size 6. Any embarrassment is worth it.

Well, from my experience, if you get fat enough, you really won't worry about what people are going to think anymore. So you could wait!

I tell people I started taking drugs. "Ozempic?" "No, cocaine." Then they laugh.

This exactly.

I think celebrities convince their doctors to prescribe ridiculous doses and they end up with dramatic results.

I have several family members on ozempic and I see them every few months. One guy lost 10 pounds but still had a big gut. I would not have guessed he had lost any weight unless he told me. Same for the others. The doses prescribed to regular people are very low and slow acting.

They’re likely on it for medical reasons. Monjauro and ozempic doses are much lower for medical purposes than the weight loss drug doses. They’re prescribed for different things

If they mention my weight loss, I tell people I am taking the magic shot!

I tell people who I know who are going to be cool but not people who are not cool.

I lost 70 lbs. Only 2 people at work said anything. I literally had to force a close colleague to say they noticed it. The loss is very noticeable and people who do say something are astonished, often circling back to that topic in multiple conversations. But a vast majority of people, and almost everyone at work, sad nothing.

At this point if you lose weight fast it is assumed you are on the drugs unless otherwise specified.

I lost 30 lbs. The only people who asked were my mom and my husband. I honestly think people are too embarrassed to pry. And I don't care if they assume I used GLP-1s. I looke and feel great and that is what matters.

I tell people if they ask and give them recommendations where to get it if they don't otherwise qualify for insurance to cover it. I can't recommend GLP-1 drugs enough, the benefits go beyond weight loss.

"Thanks to Zepbound, I've been able to change my diet and have the energy to exercise now"

Be honest.

"I'm eating less." Which is quite true.

I never comment on someone's weight loss.

It's essentially saying "I noticed you were fat before and now you look thinner".

If you wouldn't say "Hey Susie, you look like you've gained 25 pounds lately", then don't say "Hey Susie, you look like you've lost weight".

OP, FWIW I have lost 30 lbs in 3 months, dropped 2 dress sizes, and definitely look different, and nobody has said a single thing to me.
