Do not ever go barefoot.
Maybe get a steroid pack to calm the inflation down and fix what you wear on your feet.
Always stretch gently before any physical activity.

Don’t get a cortisone shot! That can ruin your foot. Look it up.
Wearing shoes with insoles ALL of the time helped me.
