I know a kid like that and his list was Duke, Notre Dame, UVA, and Georgetown.

Vandy is an excellent combination of strong history undergrad dept and very strong -- maybe too strong -- school spirit. Then there's Nashville wrapped around it all

My DS would love to go to (like tons of others it seems!) a school bigger than an LAC that has lots of spirit and fun sports. Any suggestions? I have been trying to research online but for some reason am not coming up with much. Thank you!

VT is excellent in the humanities and liberal arts.

My DS is a 3rd year at UVA and is a history major. He is also doing the distinguished majors program. He started as a politics major and didn't really enjoy the classes. I would like to take some of the classes he is taking - they sound so interesting! He is getting a great education at UVA and intends to go to law school.

Does he have any books written by professors he loves? Or any specific areas of interest or professors he wants to study under?

My DD is majoring in history at Wisconsin and has incredible professors and small classes. She loves it.

And yet 80% of Berkeley students find a way to do so.
