I agree. He made the right call.
OP, do you not share the concerns about community safety?
Why would legal U.S. citizens of Hispanic descent be in danger? Why have their celebration cancelled without consultation?
Oh that’s right, a white progressive knows what is best for them.
Why? I guess you haven’t been paying attention to who ICE has been arresting— or the recent Supreme Court statement: that a person’s appearance, language, and location are “reasons” that justify arrests. But hey: obviously by your use of “their” you don’t view yourself as Hispanic. Who did you consult with before making your statements? Maybe you’re disappointed that there won’t be a festive to assemble sitting ducks for ICE?
If you are here illegally, I do not care if you are fearful; that's the breaks. ICE is not rounding up citizens as much as you want to instill this panic into society. It is just not happening. I would argue that ICE is in more danger than anyone else since democrats keep trying to kill them.
It is a shame that this festival was cancelled, once again prioritizing the protection of individuals who should not be here over that of MoCo's legal citizens.

This is a particularly egregious example. The autistic 5 year old is a US citizen. Yes, it is happening. You just don’t care that it’s happening.

+1
Not even DC canceled their festival. We will be going to Fiesta DC instead.

that's stupid
It contributes to racial silos. Government should be about unity.
OK no more St. Patrick's Day celebrations for you. It's apparently too divisive.

You do actually follow up the facts right? Correction and retraction: NBC later corrected its story, acknowledging that an earlier version had "mischaracterized the activities of ICE agents in the video".
