what a stupid response. Suddenly the kid is adept at everything just because they moved out?

You need to call VT and immediately request to live in the dorm with your daughter. Get power of attorney.

Not only did my freshman and all her friends not drink…they still don’t as sophomores.

They’re probably drinking right now and will lie to you about it.

+1 weird! I’m from a multigenerational
family of hokies.

I’ve only heard of people from other parts of the country who don’t know the school call it that.

As she is 18 yrs old but under 21 yrs old, Can i as a parent ask for help from the college counselling center? What can i do before it becomes too late to do anything?

No, you can’t. Obviously you raised her wrong.

You were probably overbearing mom who didn’t let her do anything in high school. His that working out for you helicopter mom?

I assume a college student (even underage) will drink within reason. But classes must be attended and work properly completed.

No fake IDs need to be a line in the sand.

Same with the buddy system.

There are a gazillion freshmen that go all in with all the opportunities that are available when they leave home - and then decide, that's enough. And subsequently have a very chill and meaningful and studious remaining years.

I wouldn't address things until sophomore year. It's important college students figure things out on their own.

As opposed to urban schools, where kids spend all their time at bars, not only drinking but wasting money.
