It's not about the First Amendment. No one is saying a private company can't fire Kimmel. It's about the administration using the government/FCC to threaten and bully private companies into firing people who make statements that they do not like.

This is the world we live in now where the President can call anyone who disagrees with him scum, but comedians cannot comment on current events that don't align with the Presidents platform.

So he lied.

He didn't. At the time no one knew for certain. It's OK to be wrong. He was not insensitive nor did he say anything bad about the man who died.

That wasn’t a question. He lied. Hence why he’s fired.

We still don’t know for certain! We have whackadoodles like Candace Owen, thinking it was Israel who did the hit… Still!

No. Clearly it's a sign that Trump is crushing dissenting speech in all the ways. People who are on visas and green cards have been warned that they cannot comment negatively about certain topics - supposedly to root out anti-Semitism, but really and actually, they cannot criticize anything the government does or says. Trump has shown a pattern of directly attacking journalists who ask him questions, more recently an Australian journalist. Trump has sued two newspapers recently for publishing topics he didn't like, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. His army of MAGAs have caused hundreds of people to be fired from their jobs because they said mean things about Charlie Kirk. Late night comics such as Colbert are being cancelled, supposedly for commercial reasons, but really because they have long gone after Trump and network owners don't want to take that risk anymore. Kimmel didn't even say anything critical of Kirk, and he got cancelled immediately after an entirely innocuous comment about MAGA always looking to pin the blame on the far-left. Maybe ABC will trot out a nonsensical "commercial" reason like CBS did with Colbert.

This is a becoming a real dictatorship, in fact.

It's not as if we have certifiable facts even now. The Trump admin is trying desperately to create a narrative. If it was readily there, they wouldn't be acting like this. I'm still not convinced this wasn't a Reichstag moment, given their orchestrated extremely heavy handed reaction.

Trump is barely hanging on. Once he’s dead, the project 2025 puppet masters will truly let loose on MAGA - poverty, slavery or death is their future; “prosperity” after death.

2) As a free speech absolutist, I doubt Charlie Kirk would want this.

3) I am really sick of hearing about Charlie Kirk. It isn’t like he was a good person.

Shut up

lol no. Charlie Kirk was nothing more than a provocateur who said heinous things for attention. He didn’t deserve to be killed for it but it’s not like he contributed anything worthwhile to society and history will not remember him fondly. I am beyond sick of being told he was a good person.

You’re hilarious! You will never stop hearing his name.

He will go the way of Rush Limbaugh.

Turning Point USA has now RECEIVED over 54,000 INQUIRIES to START new chapters.

Not going anywhere sweetheart.

Of course someone like you would say sweetheart. Charlie Kirk is going to the dustbin of history, new chapters or not.
