I am always winging it and cooking based on what I have hanging it around. Oh I have frozen chicken, let me take that out of the freezer and figure something out. Oh I bought rolls at the store, what can I do with these? Let's see...I have frozen meatballs. Meatballs subs it is. Every day this is me.
I don’t see what’s bad about this? Is that it stresses you out to have to come up with something based on what you have already in the house?
I’ve done 4 or 5 days worth of advance meal planning before, but I’ve found that once I get to the 3rd day I’m often not in the mood for what I’ve planned. Or something comes up, like a dinner invitation or practice running late, etc. So that meal gets postponed, and then the produce for that meal loses a day of freshness, and then I’m even less enthused about it on the 4th day.
I know weekly meal planning works for lots of people, but I guess I don’t see it as something to aspire to?
