If it were me, I’d probably look for shortish direct flights and go somewhere where I would not need to rent a car. If you are hoping to see a museum or two, I’d consider Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, and Toronto. I’m assuming you’ve already been to NYC and Philly. Of the places you’ve mentioned, I think I’d choose Savannah. You can fill a few days there for sure (though not much more than that).

I always do NYC for solo trips. Museums don't get much better.

This. It’s beautiful there in October, but I went with a friend for a few days and the drive is very dark and hilly/windy. I would have been really nervous if I’d been alone.

Portland is fantastic, so it would probably be my first pick.

But if you are willing to consider other cities, Loiusville, KY is also really cool...and a place you might not otherwise visit.

OP, are you interested in history? Andrew Jackson's plantation The Hermitage is near Nashville. I thought the guides were good and the tour was interesting. I also enjoyed going to Vanderbilt's campus.

Portland has weird vibes.

Savannah is kind of boring, you see everything in 1 day.

Asheville would be perfect but idk how the recovery is doing.

Sedona would be amazing if you're okay with getting there.

Never been to Nashville.

For a solo refresh? No way.

That was my feeling. I go there all the time alone for work and find it depressing.
Portland can also be depressing.
Sedona would be beautiful. Asheville is great but has it bounced back from the floods?

Gosh me too. The Gaylord is a conference hotel I’d be so sad doing a solo trip where I work.

OP Portland is too far for a short trip, same with Sedona due to driving.

I’d do Savannah or Asheville.

Santa Fe is another great option it’s often where I go (female) for solo weekends away great food great art great museums. Good vibe. Stay at ojo caliente!

I think it's a personality thing. My priority would be the solo aspect. Beyond that I don't really care if I'm staying in a shoebox or what. Second priority would be seeing something I want to see, but that's not the lodging.
