Subject: Would you personally drive a new Cadillac Escalade or would you feel too self-conscious?
So here’s the joke
We have 4 kids. 3 Honda Odysseys and an ESV.
The odyssey is the greatest vehicle ever made. I have close to 250k on my 2012 Honda, 200k on my 10yo Van and about 75k on the 5yo van.
But I will drive the Cadillac for date night. Will the Escalade make it to 200k?? Probably not. But it’s my support of the unions and cliches that keep me in its graces. Money for nuthin.

The only way I’m buying that car is if it comes with a personal chauffeur. I’m sure as hell not driving it, but if Jeeves wants to tote me around-sure.

In Texas, Utah, Tennessee, and Florida it’s all 30 and 40-something attractive SAHM moms driving these.

Interesting. My observations fit the mid-to-high 40s and 50s (Millennials and Gen-X)

Sure keep telling yourself that. Have you been on here long? DCUM is full of people claiming they aren’t rich, and yet they make 350k+. Most people can easily afford this ugly vehicle…they choose not to. They drive BMWs, Audis, Land Rovers, etc.

You get used to it after a few days, then you can't live without the space, comfort, and view of the road. Navigating parking lots is still annoying, sometimes, but not enough to give up the space, comfort, and view of the road.

My mommy influencer neighbor drives one and it just seems ridiculous. I can't imagine navigating the Trader Joe's parking lot in that thing.
