I also believe that she is insecure so she likes yes people around her who won't tell her the truth. With that said, I am really offended by some of these comments.
DC has had good Mayors. They have been mixed bags like in any city. Some good folks have run and lost. Anthony Williams was great, Fenty was ok, but did some great things. They both had vision. Bowser has never had any. Not even sure why she wanted to be Mayor. When she initially ran i thought it was a joke. She is 2 french fries short of a happy meal.

How could you not like Anthony Williams?
PP you replied to. They were all corrupt and incompetent. As is this one. But again, not worse than the others. I have given up hoping for an effective DC mayor. The entire city is apathetic to its problems. Maybe the current situation is what's needed to wake them up and put them in front of their responsibilities.

Its why we'll ultimately need appointed mayors again.
Appointed by who? Trump? The current Congress? You must like the prospect of DC being under the thumb of someone like Stephen Miller.
It would be for the best. Anyone not beholden to Dem machine politics or Progressive purity spiraling could actually do things like putting criminals behind bars and recriminalize drugs.
All the right people would seethe as the city became more livable.

Of course, she did send a letter a couple of days before January 6 that she did not want the National Guard called up.
She also said it on the Today show. Might have been a different morning show, but she said it.
This is, of course, a lie.
Not only is it not a lie, but also common knowledge:

The amateurs she has at the helm, like Chief of Staff Lindsay Parker (smarter than Muriel but does not have gravitas or much of a personality), the Mayor’s Office of Legal Counsel (MOLC), which is full of inexperienced attorneys and led by a Deputy Director who often appears woefully intellectually inferior to the much more seasoned DC government attorneys, but who loves to hog the camera (see the disastrous Falcicchio press conferences), are not equipped to meet this moment. They never were and the Mayor had enough of a runway to realize this. Muriel needs lawyers with the legal acumen of the current DC AG and his senior staff actually working FOR the Mayor.
I am really disappointed with this administration, its responses to this debacle and its hiring choices. Just such a mess. Constantly looking like a deer in headlights, stumbling over her words, contradicting herself - is anybody advising her?
It is sexist and demeaning to refer to the female mayor of a major city by her first name. Address her with respect, by her last name, as you would if she was a man.
This was the exact sentiment I wanted to express.
They are the kind of sexiests who said the 2024 election was Trump vs Kamala and the 2016 election was Trump vs Hillary.
You’re mixing up the words “sexiest” and “sexists”.
Bowser employs some of the sexist men ever.
Bowser does not employ the sexiest men ever.

The DC AG? Please say more about their acumen and what they are doing that is helping this mess.
