Yes, gave my son something to look forward to and aspire to.

My child did some programs on college campuses for dance before junior year. So, she saw Radford, ODU, JMU and Slippery Rock in PA by that point. JMU was the only one that didn't offer housing, so it was a one day intensive.

She wound up applying to 3 of them and one was her runner up option.

We wanted to see schools while students were there. That's hard to do all in junior year, when kids' own classes are so time consuming. Doing some schools farther away as part of a vacation in 10th made it so we could mostly focus on day trips for the other schools.

Official tours make a difference.
It leaves a more lasting impact on the child.

We had a trip out to the west coast and visited a lot of colleges. The only ones that they still remember are the ones where we had tours. The rest kind of blend into a single category of "west coast school"

Yes, mine did. If you cram all the tours into junior year, it’s hard to manage — especially considering colleges are on break when you’re on break.
