All crypto investing is a SCAM unless 1) it is managed by you directly on an established, well-known platform such as Coinbase and 2) the asset has been around for a while such as BTC and ETH and maybe a few others. Otherwise its a scam or pump and dump scheme. This should.be common sense by now.

The money likely isn’t real (eg what they’re seeing in their accounts is just #’s they can’t withdraw, the scammers have already taken the money). We had something similar happen to an older couple we know.

I’d take this extremely seriously and report this to your local FBI branch / office, they’re the first stop for suspected crimes like this. You can stay anonymous if you’d like.


How do you know if you are buying it through a legit or scam website? How do people by Bitcoin?

No surprise. When I was a kid, our church had some people involved who held "wellness seminars" that they tried to tie to the church teachings. It was really an MLM sales pitch for various supplements and BS products. A tale as old as time.
