It’s something I don’t like the look of now, but I definitely wore thick wool socks with my Birkenstocks in college

For me, it's how they slide the sandals across the ground as they shuffle their feet while walking. Nails on a chalkboard.

Tevas and “camp socks” were a thing when I went to college (university) in Canada 25 years ago. By this point, it doesn’t even register as anything other than a stage the kids will grow out of… unless it’s some kind of ethnic outfit, in which case I don’t really think about it.

Young people don't show their toes except in the south and florida.

It's been around for several years at this point, so I don't think about it much. Gen Z has it's own style, like every generation before them, so I'd just work on letting this one go.

It's for the young.. leave them alone. In due time they will have to confirm and dress like you.

I worked in some jails and prisons during law school and socks and slides is what inmates would wear. They'd also sag their pants so half of their underwear would show.

No. It’s very hippy and it’s more hygienic.

Funny. I think I want to try this combo. There's just not a great time to. Apparently I'm spending too much time in sweaty socks as it is.
