Unsurprising for the best college in computer science.

What field is the job in? sounds great

Finance! He's hoping to move into tech scene for more skill development. Very career focused.

My ds is looking for a Capitol Hill or government relations job and it’s awful. Most of his friends in his major are still looking, and these are very qualified kids who have had internships. My DS has had four great internships including two on the Hill. It’s really upsetting to see what he’s going through. Every job he interviews at say he’s one of over 1000 applicants.

They all hustled, did internships or lower paying jobs first, networked and all have jobs with varying pay. The jobs are out there but you need to be aggressive and be willing to move and be open to different opportunities.

I would rather pay for my kid to have an apartment than have them live at home again. Anyone else?

Disagree, but I guess not everyone has a great kid! LOL.

Oh mine are great! I just like my empty nest.

Me too. I went to boarding school to get away from parents at 15. My kid moved in with my sister to start college. No way would I want him moving back after college. He can live with roommates.
Great kid. My sister begged to have him.

Both my nieces found jobs out of school this year. One in accounting that was offered after an internship. The other is an RN.

You do realize this is not an option for many people, right?

It is not bad!
Every single 25 grad at my kids ivy hd a job or grad/law/med lined up by graduation weekend. All of them. There were multiple parties for all of the different groups and if the kid didnt say the job the parents were sure to say. We must have met 40-50 families over the three days.

Do you think there will be less jobs in some of these areas because of Trump kicking out the men and women who do the actual building?

No.

Perhaps without a surfeit of labor the construction industry will be forced to modernize to achieve productivity gains.

So it could be a blessing in disguise.
