I'd wolf down pasta at Ecco in Old Town - god, the fettucine was delicious.
Austin Grill for throwing back margaritas. Guapos too.
Not to mention the delicious, sumptuous takeaway Italian at Listrani's or La Piazza Old Town.

I MISS THE OLD DC

Generous George’s was awful!

Duke's. Hard to believe it closed in 94.
I remember one Christmas Eve Day my officemate Trudy and I went for drinks after office closed at noon. At the bar we got in conversation with a man. He was a pilot. Guy on other side of us said "Government employees and airline pilots who else would be here drinking middle of day.. "
Always remember that.
