Hoping World Cup debacle that’s coming next year will have Belgian-like revival for 2030 in youth game….too many history teachers who played D3 coaching to cover mortgage!

Coaches are supposed to be trained in "positive coaching," a lot of based on the principles of UCLA basketball coaching legend John Wooden. It doesn't seem to be sinking in around here. I reffed a game in which one coach spent the whole game berating his team and was only silent right after they scored. He's an extreme example but not far from the norm.

We did a summer tournament with a lot of VA teams and parents and we had so many unpleasant encounters with them. Super sore losers. Just seemed so surprise that their kids weren’t as good as they thought they were. This was at a meaningless tournament that’s supposed to be fun. Imagine what they’re like during the season!
