They are British companies that are currently owned by an Indian company. When they were owned by Ford, they were British companies, not American companies. When they were owned by BMW, they were British companies, not German companies. And the cars sold in the US are manufactured in the UK. Land Rovers and Jaguars made in India are for the Indian market.

I'd say they both do, but I don't know what the answer to that is (for either country).
Likely the best answer for any country is to keep critical infrastructure as internal as possible, but to also maintain a multitude of strong ally connections and open trade lines with other countries that have similar values and goals. Trump has kind of pissed all over the world pot for the US in that aspect, though.

So why should India give in to America's bullying? If America's policy is America first, shouldn't India's policy be India first?

India is a long-lasting civilization with high economic disparity and incredible amounts of poverty. They make the choices they make, as will every other country. But there is no reason for the US to subsidize their choices at this point, under this administration.
If India loses out because of those choices, then that's what happens. If the US does, then so be it. but India's no martyr for the rest of the world, and the US is no sugar daddy.
I'm the poster you have been responding to. Your position is reasonable. However the US is trying to counter China. I don't think the US would be playing sugar daddy to entice India to its side. China's approach to trade harms Americans.
