You can buy methylfolate OTC at Whole Foods and try it without taking any tests. Methylfolate is the active form of leucovorin. It isn't harmful to try but it hasn't had any effects for my kid that I can tell.
Our psychiatrist was supportive of trying it. That said I am in a SN group and several people are trying leucovorin and nobody has reported success with it.
A group on Facebook popped up on my feed today. I see some promising stories in that group. It is called autism and leucovorin and has many questions and answers in the group.
