How much were your student loans compared to med school?
Why does that matter? Why aren’t there similar programs for firefighters or teachers or nurses? I’m just a lobbyist who never had student loans and my parents helped me buy my first house. But I can appreciate that it’s a massive double standard that someone who is already privileged (most American educated doctors come from UMC+ backgrounds… I said most not all) and is graduating into the highest paid profession in the country gets some special treatment by banks. There are many other jobs that are very secure.
