In Aruba now - first time and we are shocked at all the people who come here year after year. Aruba isn’t a place we would come back to. It’s our least favorite Caribbean island and we’ve been to a few: Turks and Caicos, St Lucia, BVI, USVI, Bermuda, Bahamas, Grand Cayman. Not sure what the attraction is - we are at the Hyatt and the beach is OK but so much of the beach is taken up with water sports the water isn’t that clear. I lived in Miami and think the beaches there are better. Baby Beach is nice but it’s 40 min away. I expected Palm Beach to look like this and was disappointed. It’s an easy vacation for the less adventurous- lots of American chain restaurants and they take USD so easy to navigate.

I agree it's odd. Yes, Aruba is built up. It has some large hotels, a pretty big airport and tons of restaurants and shopping. It is a cruise port after all. But it is still a very lovely island with friendly people. Maybe folks want something more sleepy and less built up, but Aruba is great for what it is.
