I probably talk on the phone with my mom 1-2x a week these days and a few texts a week, more if there's a particular situation, which there is quite often at the moment. I used to visit 2-3x a year but now I go approx once a month for 2-3 days. Longer if needed.

I talk with them every 1-2 weeks. I see them maybe 5-6 times a year, including a longer stretch where I go to help out and spend from 2-4 weeks with them.

This makes no sense. How would your MIL know when your DH was having sex? or driving? or in a meeting (not at work, in a meeting)? She just calls. Sound like the problem is on your DH's end, picking up the phone waaaay too often.

Don't think about what you "SHOULD" do -- that's a game you can't win. What do you WANT to do? Do you want to talk with them more often? Then prioritize it. If don't don't want to ... then don't worry about it. I don't see your parents calling you. SHOULD they? Or do you WANT them to?

Don't get stuck thinking about what should be. Think about what you want to be.

Rarely. They’re evangelical trumpers. It’s pretty easy though because they live out west and never call or visit.

I call my mom about 3 times every week. My daughters call 1-2 times per week but texts almost everyday, sons call once a month and text 1-4 times per week.

Unfortunately every day as I have to administer his eye drops. I am quite tired of it, my challenge is to stay nice and friendly no matter what I think or feel.
